The Grotto Therapeutic Center provides full-day, year-round educational and therapeutic services to children aged 2 – 12 with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Grotto students receive individualized behavioral, academic, and social skills training. All Grotto programs are based on applied behavior analysis, or ABA.
Our highly trained behavior technicians employ techniques proven effective to teach skills, included but not limited to discrete trial instruction, incidental teaching, pivotal response training, and structured learning. Each child at the Grotto receives 30+ hours of direct therapy a week with a one-to-one student to staff ratio. Each child’s curriculum and progress is regularly monitored and evaluated through a rigorous data collection system.
The Grotto supports families as they make important choices for their children, encouraging them to participate in the planning and delivery of services. Parent training programs help parents move from passive roles as “observers” to involved “co-teachers.”
