Coordinator of Community Education ESL, Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus, retired Grandparent of twins on the autism spectrum.
For two decades, Mary served the international population of Northern Virginia through English language instruction and administration. She helped grow one of the largest intensive ESL programs in the nation. Her career also focused on diversity training in the local, academic, and business communities. After raising a family and her years of service to the college, Mary and her husband retired to Hendersonville to be close to family. Always active in church and community organizations, Mary felt led to volunteer at St. Gerard House, even though she did not have extensive experience with autism. That would change when she became a grandmother to twins on the autism spectrum. Mary brings a heart for service, compassion, and education to the mission of SGH.
